1. Choosing your website Domain Name
The first stage is choosing your website domain name. Your domain is like your home address. It tells people where you are. For example, the domain name for this website is www.simplesitesdesign.co.uk. The domain name is initially registered for one or two years depending on whether it is a .co.uk or a .com. This will need to be renewed after the term. Simple Sites will register your domain name on your behalf from a domain provider.
2. Website Hosting
All websites are hosted by someone. It is similar to paying rent for your shop premises. Hosting is paying for space on the world wide web (Internet). Again, like your domain name, Simple Sites will organise your hosting through a hosting provider.
3. Design
Once we agree on the general layout, colour schemes, timescale's and costs, I will crack on with designing your site. I will keep you updated with how your site is coming along by emails with links to your sites progress. I normally ask for 50% payment in advance and the balance on completion. This will be confirmed by email or post. Your site will not go live until you are completely satisfied.
4. Build
Once you are happy with your website, I will upload it to your host and your site will be live online. Timescale's for the design and build stages vary. I normally recommend you allow up to 3 - 4 weeks.
Included in the agreed price is basic SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and submission of your site to the major search engines. This means that your site is visible to search engines (like Google for example) so your new customers can find you.
5. Maintain
Your website comes with 3 months free updates. So if you decide you want to make some changes to your site, it is absolutely free. After the 3 month term, changes will be charged for depending on how much work is required.
Correspondence
All correspondence can be made over the phone or email. Most calls and emails will be returned within 48hrs, if I am not available.
